Internships available: If you are an undergraduate student in the Beijing area interested in learning about statistical genetics by working on some projects on gene mapping, please write to me. Requirements: Scientific curiosity, some understanding of statistics (although this could be acquired on the job), sufficient English knowledge to hold a conversation. If you are good I can connect you with scientists in the U.S.; two of my former undergraduate interns are now graduate students at American universities.

Main Research Interests

Developing new mathematical-statistical methods for human gene mapping (linkage mapping, disequilibrium analysis). Implementing these methods in computer programs.

To study interactions of multiple disease loci underlying complex traits, methods of pattern recognition and classification are investigated.

Statistical analysis of genome-wide case-control association data and of microarray data.

Collaborating with other researchers on the analysis of their genetic data.

Maintaining a web/ftp site for dissemination of information and computer programs.
